MAKSIM is known for his unique style that seamlessly blends classical and contemporary music, and his work is highly acclaimed internationally. His well-known compositions such as "Flight of the Bear Bee" and "Croatian Rhapsody" and his outstanding performances have earned him an international following, and his ability to captivate audiences with dynamic and emotional performances has made him a beloved figure in the classical and crossover music world.

MAKSIM's music reaches a diverse audience beyond the classical music world. His work has been featured on the official album of the Olympic Games, won MTV's Best Crossover Debut Album of the Year award, and has reached over 150 million views on YouTube. His musical style can be described as breaking down the boundaries of musical genres, from classical and film music to pop.
Over the years, he has performed at venues and events as prestigious as Roundhouse in London, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Sydney Opera House, Mercedes-Benz Arena Shanghai and CCTV New Year's Gala for more than 1 billion viewers.

With a height of nearly two meters and model like features , MAKSIM is enthusiastically popular in Japan, other Asian countries, and Europe. He was born in the beautiful city of Sibenik on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. He was started to learm the piano at the age of 6 and enrolled in a music school at the age of 9. In 1991, the Yugoslav conflict erupted and his city was engulfed in the maelstrom of war, but despite the harsh conditions, he continued to practice in the basement of his music school, pinning his hopes for the future on the piano. The fact that a contestant from the most war-torn region of the country won was a surprise to everyone in the hall, earning him the nickname "the pianist of the battlefield.

The victory in this competition led MAKSIM to the Music Academy in Zagreb, where he studied with Arturo Beneditti MAKSIM. He studied for 5 years under Professor Vladimir Krupan, a student of Arturo Beneditti Michelangeli. In 2000, he moved to Paris, where he took further lessons with Igor Laziko, and in 2001, he won the In 2001, he won the first prize at the Pontoise Piano Competition.

The album "The Piano Player" was released in the same year, and Maksym has been releasing albums consistently since then. In Hong Kong, it went double platinum, and it set a new record by being No. 1 on the HMV International Pop Chart for 12 consecutive weeks.

 

In April 2004, He had a tour of Japan and other Asian countries. In April 2004, he became an enthusiastic favorite in Japan and other Asian countries, selling out 4,000-person venues in each country. In Japan, he performed with the world-famous Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra led by Yuri Simonov in the spring of 2005. He demonstrated his abilities as a classical pianist to the delight of a packed house of fans. In the fall of the same year, he returned to Japan for a nationwide tour that included a gala concert. The following year, in 2006, he toured Japan again with his backing band. In the fall of the same year, he performed again with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, and is overwhelmingly popular not only as a crossover pianist but also as an authentic classical pianist.

In the spring of 2007 and 2008, he toured the country in solo acoustic piano format for two consecutive years, and in 2008 he released his first album "pure II" on his own label. In November of the same year, in addition to performing at gala concerts, he gave solo performances in Tokyo, Yokosuka, and Nagoya, demonstrating his popularity in Japan.

In 2014 maksim performed at the famous Bunkamura hall in tokyo, besides, he also performed at Osaka and Kagoshima.
Finally on the 30th Oct 2023 , after 9 years away from Japan. Maksim came back to Japan for one night show at Tokyo Metropolitan Theater Concert Hall.

Born in Šibenik, Dalmatia, Croatia.
